Written and recorded while his dad was dying, Panda Bear’s second album is a quiet and meditative affair. For the most part it’s just voice and acoustic guitar, and with a few exceptions the songs all seem to be built around similar melodic themes, making it hard to tell them apart. But there’s plenty of understated beauty in these tracks, and taken as a whole the album makes for a very relaxing and uplifting listening experience.
